    This in no way addresses why streaming through an Apple TV would have experienced the same issues.

    This is only a fraction of the issue, if that.

    This is so clearly not the explanation; JavaScript loading tweets and photos asynchronously absolutely does not prevent caching. Check the source of (http://www.apple.com/live/2014-sept-event/) — everything there is cacheable.
