My girlfriend's portfolio. What do you think? (raquelroman.be)

While I like the layout, the navigation is very confusing to me:
Are the colored tiles "Conceptual", "Portraits" etc. special categories, or do they serve as "headings" for other projects/tiles? She should either use headings anywhere or nowhere, as it is now it is confusing.
When you enter a project and click on the icon with the four squares on the top right, it does nothing. I would expect that it takes you back to the "homepage".
I don't like these off-canvas menus. They are ok for a mobile navigation, but on desktop the navigation should always be present, always. Why hide something that is so essential for a website? Apart from that, why are all the projects from the replicated in the navigation?
Apart from these "cons" I there are certainly also things I like:
Overall the portfolio is good, but needs some improvement.
Serious loading issues.
Looks great, but yes, when i look at books we're sent i like to see who the person is. I most likely won't go trakin' down their twitter or instagram to get that info.
Looks great though :)
I'm curious what did she use to get the touch/hover functionality to work on iOS? It's not the default :hover behavior (which you only get after clicking in iOS to allow for hover menus).
I recognize her messengerly project from Dribbble from when I was doing some research on chat app design.
As for feedback, Dennis seems to have done a good job of that.
