In theory I love PS2014's new Smart Guides, with the quick, Sketch-like access to measurements they provide.

But in practice I find that for one thing, they slow down or freeze Photoshop for many files/layers, they sometimes ghost on the screen after I'm done measuring, and worst, they're inconsistent. For example, here I am measuring the distance between text and its containing box, either by selecting the box (layer "bg") and hovering over the text, or switching and selecting the text and hovering over the box:

This gets a little maddening. Anyone else seeing this? Any fixes, or discussions about shoring this up?
