Wow. These are interesting, but also extremely frustrating. One guy said "I mean, I'm not really sure why I came to this site" as if that was a demerit for the design, and not the basic principle of Peek. This isn't helpful feedback. Users don't land on you site like that without any context at all.

Love Nate's site. The average individual will definitely not 'understand' the beauty in it.
I did mine a while back. All comes down to the tester that you get.

The company he works for does do some good work, but you can't really argue with a user when they have a bad experience.

I agree with you. It's impossible to please every single person though, even if the work is "good" or generally well designed.

Here's one of my site. I still think the premise of sending a random user to "test" your site is flawed. It should at least be like "Review an Online Shopping Site" or "Review an Online Publication" Something like that to give people a basis for how to judge what they are looking at.

I thought that was interesting as well. I was definitely going for "minimal" but understood entirely that for the layperson, it had probably gone too far.

Sorry Nate, I for one like your site. :-( Anyway, are these results private or can I find more of them? I find them very interesting.
They do send you a link for your site they tested and you can access it publicly, but I'm not sure you can actually find them if you don't have the link.

Ran two Peek tests recently for Bennettbarn.com before it launched. Everyone seems to love the cats photo. Its always interesting to see the little details people pick up on...and how many of them notice the same seemingly minor things.

I just ran mine through Peek for the fun of it. I would agree with other comments that a single user does not make a true usability test but that aside, at least its some feedback.

So far I've conducted three tests through this and they have all been relatively positive. I'm a little concerned the feedback may not be truly candid.
Nevertheless, watching someone else go through a site is helpful. For instance, you can click on the images to scroll through but she never found that feature.

Copy wise, you might consider unifying the voice of the first two sections. The first one is in third-person ('Matthew Forr is...'), and the second one is in first-person ('This is my...')
