Wow...automatically attempting to download on page load...oh dear
Terrible, terrible user experience.
I cannot believe someone thought this was a good idea and in any way acceptable.
Someone probably argued "It's one less click" ....
"Sorry, at the moment you need a Mac and an iOS device to use Stand In." Still tries to download...
Wtf. So obnoxious forcing a download on that url.
We set up getstandin.com as a convenience for people to download since it requires an iOS app and desktop app. When you view it on an iOS device it redirects you to the app store to get the iOS app, or when viewed on the desktop, it downloads the Photoshop installer. It wasn't meant to be shared. Please visit standin.io for our site.
"See what it does" section is totally useless to me, I don't want to read I want to see. Perhaps there is something wrong because I can't see any download link and I'm not going to pay until I can see what I'm buying. Terrible UX.
Linking to an auto-download is awkward. Better to link to http://standin.io/ for some more info. Looks like a great use of what I assume is the new Photoshop APIs. Site is pretty nice too.
Have no idea what this does..attempts to download on page load.
was it meant to download the installer before I sign up and pay?
and It should really say "built on top of Photoshop CC"
Looks nice, from what I can see... Anyone tried this already and can tell me how it actually works? Do you assign 'properties' to layers that allow you to link it to other files/layers? Their product tour on the homepage is hard to follow.
http://standin.io/press/Stand-In-Screenshot-Interactive-9537a29f.jpg Looks like they create new folders & layers for you to replace, and then you link to a specific folder and select a transition. (still cant download, just speculating )
The auto-donwload made me lose faith in the product. Closed the tab, deleted the file and moving on.
In the email i received, it said there was a trial period download. Link just took me to a standard checkout form .
update: looks like they fixed the download link
