I first thought so, but no. You'll always lean a bit forward and get automatically into a more straight posture. The best thing is its flexibility. You sit and stand up faster and more comfortable. You can turn around etc... Best part of my setup is that I use it with standing desk, so I can even set the chair a bit higher when I want the setting between sitting/standing.
