    Touch Bar feels like the elephant in the room right now. Is it going to survive the keyboard redesign that has to drop this fall.

    I mean it's only on two machines in their entire lineup, didn't even make it to their premium 10K pro machine and the 13/15 inch it exists on needs a complete keyboard rethink.

    Wouldn't be the first time Apple has completely ditched an "iconic" design 2 years after it came out.

      I’m glad they try new things, but I’ll be even happier when the Touch Bar goes away. Fingers crossed for an improved keyboard soon.

        Definitely happy they're trying new things. They have a lot of catching up to do against the Surface and Matebook lineups.

        I do wonder if there's some way to salvage it by adding it as a new element to the keyboard rather than replacing the function row. Then it wouldn't need to do quite so much and could be more useful to the app that's in focus.

        As you can see in the picture above, there's plenty of space above the keyboard. And it would be totally fine for an external keyboard to have both rows.
