Depends on your interpretation of 'Design School' really, most places in the UK have quite a sweeping opinion of what qualifies as 'degree level education' in the creative sector. I've found it really isn't what you know, it's who you know. Companies want to either headhunt talent (in which case you're already in a job) or have someone vouched for by a current employee. I think this is the real value of networking, even getting in touch with old school friends that work in similar sectors.
