I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, I'm just being realistic. If you know basic HTML, CSS, and javascript, it will be a lot easier for you to find a job. Thats just the way it is.
If all you're interested in is entry-level generalist positions, sure. I've found over my career i get better roles by focusing on a specialist skillset - and now that I'm the one sitting in the interviews vetting people for my team, I look for people with specialist skillsets. Generalists just aren't very good.
